Media and Philippine Culture

Media and our very own Philippine Culture.

The Filipino culture is a very fun and lively culture, yet at the same time in a disciplined manner. We have our own set of arts, activities, and festivals.

How media can affect Philippine Culture is how they can make people have a better perspective on it. Like for example the Philippine's new slogan "It's More Fun In The Philippines". That can really make make people see or be curious how it is in the Philippines. It can affect the Philippines in it's publicity to the world,
making it have a whether nice or bad culture towards the world.

Other fields media could affect our tourism and publicity on how it is in the Philippines, Here we have a nice example of the beach in the Philippines:

And another example would be the Philippines' cuisine or dining habits:

I mean who wouldn't want to know what that tastes like?

This is pretty much how the media affects the insights of people to the Philippine Culture. This will be my last blog on Media and its relations to various topics.

T'ill I blog again. :)

Media and Food

Food is a necessity. All living things need food from the basic cell to the very organism it works for. Life is complex but beautiful. It is not only the thing that keeps us alive but also the thing that makes most human beings very very happy. :)

Now, Media on the other hand, affects food and it's consumers in different ways such advertising, food shows and networks, and criticisms.

For example we have the following shows on criticizing or reacting on food:

This can affect how people look at food in certain places by thinking that the food in that place may be really delicious yet bland and disgusting. I mean how would you know? Maybe the critics were just paid to say what the audience wanted to hear for that certain restaurant?

Here is an example of how false advertising may affect the consumer's perspective:

Some advertisements may be really misleading into making the consumer think that that food would be budget friendly, big and delicious yet it might not be.

Another aspect on how media may affect food is on food networks that show the society on how to cook food and it's recipe. This is actually a pretty good thing for the society.

Examples are:

So that's how media affects food. I hope you enjoyed my blog. :D

Media And Music

Music. Music is one of the things in life that is essential. It is one of the most beautiful things God has given us in our lives, it is the beautiful sound we hear in our everyday lives. Without it, life would be almost meaningless or shallow. Music is how other people express their deepest feelings without saying a word. Just by the strum of a guitar or a chord of a piano. Music is everything.

Now, How does media affect music. Media affects music by advertising, reacting, and criticizing it. Though some television shows may also be a music show and a television show at the same time.

For example we have MTV and San Diego Music

Media could also affect the perspective in music by its publicity. Like for it being talked about in global news or on the internet.

And as you can see, media can really affect how music can be seen as in various ways. That is why media plays a great role in our society.

Media and Traveling: Blog Assignment 2 ENGLCOM

Traveling, Now what is traveling? Traveling is when you have new sorts of adventures to different places. There are many forms of traveling, mankind has found new ways to travel to different places. For example, we have the space shuttle, airplanes, boats, cars, bicycles, and the standard way, our feet. Some people have fears for traveling especially flight. I really do not know why. I can say, that I myself likes to travel and stay at home. Both would be a good idea. Traveling to different places would also mean experiencing different people, cuisine, sights, weather, and most importantly, culture. A person would travel for many reasons, like for instance, curiosity, finding whether it is a place for them to move into, sights and seeings, research work and many more.

I would say that I have not really traveled to many places, though I would say that I have had many adventures. One of my favorite places to travel would be Dumaguete. This is a place in Negros Occidental, it is very near my hometown. This place is known for its beaches. White sand, a relaxing huge body of water right in front of you, great food, and just watching the sun set. Not only is this place known for its beaches but for the great food. All varieties of food await you there. There would be Spanish, Swiss, German, Filipino and many many more in that town. It might be a 4-hour drive but I am really certain that it is worth the wait. This is why I love Dumaguete.

Now, does the media have any affiliation with traveling? Yes, yes it does. The media can greatly affect the perspective of viewers to a certain place if the media depicts that place to be big, wide, relaxing and beautiful but actually be, crowded, overrated, and boring. I would say that the media can affect the reputability of the place. The media can really affect the place by advertising, commercials and even if celebrities go to the place. Like if we see a celebrity in a certain place we would be like "Woah, Kim Kardashian is here!". All of the people would also assume that celebrities go to that place. Making that place a more popular and reputable. This is how media can affect the audience's perspective. So let us not just assume easily all the time, but instead research for ourselves how the place really is.

Media and Millennial Generation: Assignment 1 in ENGLCOM

Now, what is Media and the Millennial generation?

Let me start off by describing or telling you what is the Millennial Generation. The Millennial Generation otherwise known as "Generation Y" is the generation after "Generation X" (People born in the 1960's-1980's). The Millennial generation are the people born from the 1990's to present date. This generation is my generation. The media may have different opinions of Generation Y, they may react and reflect on the things my generation does but my generation has a much more different set of attitudes than the other generations so I'm guessing the media would react differently about my generation.

Generation Y has a lot of bad attributes and is being criticized by different generations for its new or rather different ideas like for instance revealing fashion wear, youth going to bars, minors smoking and drinking alcohol, sex, teenage pregnancy, and drug addiction. The generation right now may not be as great as the generations before but with the right teachings and guidance, hopefully the next generation may have more good core-values. Though I am not implying that my generation may be the worst, rather I am saying that this generation may not be the best either.

In all honesty, media may also be the cause of the things done by the generation nowadays, there are so many things in the media reports that kids could freely see on the internet, the computer or maybe even in the newspaper. Media could be the bad influence in the generation today. There are so many bad things in this world that are happening and it could really be a factor of influence to the generation today.

Though let me elaborate further about my generation. How would you know that maybe generation Y could be a "late bloomer" in this world and learn from their past mistakes? Well, we really wouldn't know that, wouldn't we? Pretty much every now and then, I would meet friends of mine whom in the past, went to bars, partied frequently, smoked, drank frequently, probably slept around here and there and they would tell me they want a better life then what they had before. They seek CHANGE. Development into better human beings for the good of all mankind.  So, that is how I would describe the Millennial generation and the media hopefully change and development will occur for a better future for the good of our children.
